The attractiveness of Indian Polytechnics graduates—An analysis from the (demand‐side) perspective of companies and colleges

Abstract The paper examines the attractiveness of graduates from Indian Polytechnics (PTs). is examined perspective actors who have a demand for graduates, namely companies and engineering colleges. To understand reasons their assessment attractiveness, this study uses concept institutional logics (ILs) to unveil inherent behind stakeholders' perception attractiveness. ILs, interviews were undertaken in nine 10 colleges Mumbai Delhi. findings make clear that companies' colleges' assessments PT are very different, reflecting own ILs. Companies assess as limited due lack employability graduates. In contrast, view far more positively, weaknesses described by less an impact on them.
